Here’s the thing. To enjoy living in London you gotta keep getting out of it. For us, laid back Southwest Germany is just the spot to escape to. Rambling hills, sparkling streams, ancient woods – and a garage with a couple of old bikes, it’s the perfect place to head out, going nowhere in particular, just drifting along.
As much as the area itself with its unpredictable weather and unbelievable vistas, it is that state of mind that inspires every piece from Sea of Rocks. Like when you find yourself in the most beautiful valley, locked in by a traditional tent, dreaming about a more open shelter that lets you enjoy the place you’re in. Or when you really could do with another coffee after you fried your eggs and bacon, but your stove is out of gas. And you look at your bike’s tank filled with perfectly fine stuff to burn, it gets you thinking.
It’s hard to tell what’s most fun then; running into trouble on the road, taking stuff like this back to London to design some prototypes or going into production with some of the most experienced hands back in SW Germany. It’s probably how all of it comes together by just beavering away with no particular goal in mind.
